In Predators, we were introduced to a new race of “Predator”, one that made our classic hunter look meek. In this film, we we’re introduced to three of these new hunters, which we refer to as “Super Predators”. These Super Predators are larger, stronger, and more aggressive than the original Predator seen throughout the first two films. Below is a comparison between the two hunters; their look, their weapons, and their nature.
Super Predators vs. Classic Predators
Physcial Size
When it comes down to physical size, the Super Predators were over a foot taller than the Classic Predator, and also seemed to be leaner with more muscle mass – making them heavier as well.

Near the end of the film, Royce releases the Classic Predator which had been held captive by the Supers (Super Predators) in order to gain access to a ship off the planet. Upon releasing the Predator, it shows Royce where the Beserker is hiding (The leader Super Predator of the three) space ship is. Quickly following this the Beserker Predator enters the scene to find his captive prisoner released and his ship exposed. This starts an epic battle between the two. A battle in which we clearly get to see the size comparison of the Classic Predator to the Super Predator.
As the battle goes on, eventually the Super Predator overpowers the Classic Predator and executes him with a decapitation, but not before revealing his hideous face to the beaten enemy. Here we get to see the physical differences in the facial features of both Predators.

Weapons & Equipment
The weapons used by the Super Predator clan differ in a few ways from the Classic Predator arsenal. They both still use the classic Wrist Blades, but the Super Predators are seen to only utilize one large blade as opposed to the original shorter, dual-blades used by the Classic Predator. The reason for this is unknown, but can be assumed as a range advantage for the Super Predators.

Both Wrist Blades have the ability to be launched from the wrist gauntlet towards enemies in a last-ditch attempt move or as a stealth strike.

Both Predators utilize the popular Plasma Shoulder Canon, but the Super Predator’s seems to require a longer charging period compared to the Classic Predator’s. This could mean the Super’s Shoulder Canon is more powerful. Both Predators also utilize the use of their masks which allow for multiple vision modes and laser targeting.
In conclusion, there are not many differences between Classic Predators and these new Super Predators, except for physical size and a few physical appearance differences. Like any species they are diverse and unique, yet still maintaining certain distinguishable features, which allow us to classify them as Predators. Will we see the Super Predators again? It’s possible! Robert Rodriguez confirmed a Predators sequel months ago. We will just have to wait and see.
